No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This was a good deal $$ wise, but I am a bit disappointed with the quality of the poles. I used the tent for three straight months of backpacking and both poles got really flimsy and snapped toward the end of my trip--thank-goodness for duct-tape. Also, it collects alot of water in the the corners, but otherwise very comfortable and easy to set up for sure.
